Worship & Music (link)

Both ones I Written and those by others

(This will take a while to fill back in)

·        Stir Up The Gift – This is a message I delivered to Calvary Chapel of Aiken, SC way back in 2005, in an attempt to encourage them to carry their Praise and Worship to a higher level. They had one of the most awesome Worship Teams and they would come oh so close to being Charismatic and then pull back. It is loosely based on a book by David E. Dean, “The Way Of The Christ Life”.

·        How to Help Your Pastor – This is an article giving some insights in how to help your pastor. It is in PDF formatting to allow any church to use it. (Flip on Short Edge)

·         Here I Stand – A very good and proper declaration for all soldiers of Our Lord. Originally titled: 'I Am A Soldier', by Pastor Cindye Coates M.Div. was an article I found “somewhere, and posted. Only later to have the writer contact me…

·          A Revolution of Love – This is in my humble opinion the best reasoning and call to evangelism there is. Written by George Verwer, the founder of Operation Mobilization it remains a call to come serve Jesus in far-away places because of God’s Love for each of us, and especially those that do not know him.

·         Tithing. Herein are contained my thoughts on tithing, they differ from the established norm, so enjoy.

·        A Further Note on Tithing I had a visceral response to the use of Malachi 3 and I thought I should clarify how I really feel.

·         Delight Thyself Also In The Lord – Somethings been lacking? Is something missing? You’ve been a Christian all your life, but somethings wrong, and you can’t put your finger on it? This might help.

·        The Breastplate of Righteousness – Connecting the dots between our initial imputed Righteousness of Christ and maintaining our Breastplate of Righteousness.

·        United We Stand, Divided? – I wrote this article in January of 1992. My plea continues to be that we would learn to be one, “To forget not to communicate”, or fellowship. As I reread this prior to putting it back up on the site, I realized how hard it was. It’s an ideal. After past 30 years since I first wrote it I have to wonder if it’s even realistic or achievable.

Worship & Music

Please understand that I have some very strong opinions on Music in the church for Praise and Worship

This comes from experience and a desire to Worship God in Spirit and in Truth

Making Melody to My Lord from my heart with my voice

It also comes from my Pentecostal, Charismatic and Jesus People background.

I apologize in advance for any offense you may take, pray about it.

·        About Music Ministers – The question that is at the root of this is who are you emulating when you lead Worship in your church? Or, are you your person ministering as yourself for and before Jesus.

·        Some Basic Concepts in the Administration of a Music ministry – If only things were such that every man’s ideal for and of ministry happened.

·        Some Contemporary Music Note – A few thoughts on the importance of Music and its effect on the congregation and the world. As I reread this, I hesitate to post it as at the time I really was a rebel at heart, and here I am preaching myself, and uncomfortable, too! Seems I’ve come full circle and I are one now…

·        Dwelling together in Musical Harmony – Don’t leave your seniors out when you select your Worship song list.

·        Whom are You Worshiping – That is the question that very few dare to ask themselves.

·        Kiss the Son Lest He be Angry – This is an article by Glenn Kaiser of Resurrection Band I found in a reprinted article and share it here.

·        True Worship Can Produce Holiness – Is your Worship truthful or is it just rote habit?

·        Transition from Praise to Worship – A quick Facebook meme.

·        Worship like David Did – Not what you think, this is another Facebook meme put up on the spur of the moment.

·       Instructed in the Song of The Lord – This is a .zip file of a teaching by Jack Hayford on the power of Song and the need to be instructed and learn The Song of The Lord. The files in the .zip file are in MP3 format.
