The Need for Revival - Take Two
© 2010 Mike Druckenmiller (Sr.)
In my previous writing, What If He Tarries?, way back in 1998, I asked, “what would America be like if we didn't have a bona fide revival”... Well... I guess... Now we know!
As believers we take great comfort and stock in the Scripture, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them" Matthew 18:20. I heard a sermon the other day, from Sermon Index, in which the preacher stated that IF we really were gathered in Jesus' Name, then, "And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth." 1 Corinthians 14:25 would be in evidence. That no one could enter our Services without at least making the previous confession.
The reason that this is NOT in evidence is because we fail to realize that to be gathered in His Name implies that we are gathered under His Authority and Discipline.
And, that the absence of the Corinthian Confession is PROOF that we are NOT gathered under His Authority or Discipline.
In fact we are pretty much, "... we have turned everyone to his own way..." Isaiah 53:6
I am a supporter of the Non-violent Tea Party Movement. And, I believe that as
citizens with dual citizenship, (America and Heaven) we have a responsibility
to be involved in the political process and vote with God's Conscience.
It is clear, in my firm opinion that far too many "Christians" voted contrary to their "stated" beliefs, looking to gain parity or relief from "the system". Others didn’t bother to vote at all!
Justice and Equity can NOT be found from man. It is not in a president, it is not in Congress and it most assuredly is not in any political party. Only God and God alone can heal our land.
We can wring our hands and pass the blame all we want. But, there is only one "Land Healing Promise" in God's Word, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
Please notice who is called to repentance! It's not the President! It's not Congress! It's not a political party. It's God's People, Period! We who claim and name the Name of Jesus Christ.
Some will say it's too late we've fallen too far. - But, is anything too hard for God?
And, I firmly believe, He's already done it once.
Consider back in to early 70's when Williard Cantelon wrote the book, "The Day The Dollar Died". This was a prophetic writing. And, every indicator was that our currency and that of the world was about to fail and force us into a one world monetary system. There was a distinct upsurge in end time preaching and dire warnings.
But...
Something happened...
There was a revival amongst the youth, of which I was one. It was called "The Jesus People Movement".
And, guess what? God healed our land. We are still here 25 - 30 years later.
Unfortunately, we have again gone around Mount Sinai, forgot the lesson we learned and are back where we started.
What can be done?
We can seek God's Throne and beg forgiveness and revival. If only we would, I would have hope.
But, as a Pentecostal I can testify that it is nigh impossible to get people
who are preaching Health and Wealth to believe that the hand writing is on the
wall. And, it's against them!
I can't leave the Baptists out of this, either, because the more Calvinistic of them won't pray because, it's all God Will and there is no reason to pray for something that has been meticulously predestined and is under meticulous control.
Well, I disagree strongly with both view points...
First, when Jesus gave us all authority during His absence, did He mean it? Or, was He just jerking our chains? If you will notice He didn't put any qualifiers on it at all.
So, if He has meticulously predetermined everything then where can we exercise the Authority He has given us? Chew on that for a while...
Now don't get me wrong. I believe in the Sovereignty of God and of His Prophetic Word. I just do not believe that He has a specifically stated word for every minor detail.
(Just because He knows something is going to happen does not make Him guilty of making it happen.)
Further, I firmly believe that the Church Age is a Parenthetical Clause in Bible Prophecy. That is, we are in an indeterminate period of time known only to the Father.
Most end time prophecy is being held in abeyance until the end of the Church Age.
If this is so, then, we CAN have another Revival and we CAN see our Land Healed and we CAN win more souls for the Kingdom of Christ.
If this is not so, and we passionately repent and pray for revival and redeem ourselves in our own eyes, if not God's, become the living vital force God ordained us to be.
And, we still go into the "beginning of sorrows". We've lost nothing!
Except, perhaps, pleasure in sin for a season.
But, we will have gained souls for the kingdom. And, can approach God with a Clear Conscience and Sanctified Hearts and Minds.
But, if we do not seek God's Mercy... We lose everything. And, I fear that the distractions of this world will leave many, who, like Lot's Wife, will look longingly back at this world as Jesus tries to evacuate us to His world. And, be left behind. "Remember Lot's wife." Luke 17:32
And, it won't be like the same named books and movies where we have a fifth column fighting the antichrist in our own strength. No, the natural technology and the weaponry alone or too great. Are you so dumb as to think that when God has given satan full reign in judgment on the earth that you, without the Holy Spirit's Power, are going to be able to fight such a battle? No way!
The time for revival is now!
Once, the Church is counted out and the march of End Time Prophecy is reinstituted... The Land will NOT be healed. It will be JUDGED! And, we are perilously close to being counted down and out NOW!
"(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)" 2 Corinthians 6:2
