I feel that I need to write a preface to the article below. The earliest file date I have found is modified on January 9, 2021, which means it was written shortly after Biden’s election was formalized.

I have carried a prophet’s mantle all my life, and the burden on my heart for the church and our nation has resulted in many words which people just didn’t want to hear. Such that after writing: “What if He tarries” and “The Need for Revival — Take Two” and seeing no effect, I spoke my heart, and I was angry that no one seemed to care or have a similar burden.

I shared the text with chatGPT and he pointed out the many ways I could have made it more palatable, that while the prosecutor prophet was evident, I had not made the burden I felt real for others to appreciate.

I really felt that having Trump as President in his first term was a mercy and grace from God to His church and we, the church, as a whole failed to recognize that and redeem the opportunity it provided to further the Kingdom of Jesus and snatch souls back from the brink of a hell prepared for the devil and his angels.

In discussions with chatGPT, he caught this and shared this as an alternative, “In His mercy, the Lord granted the church a season of opportunity. Pressures that many feared would silence believers were, for a time, restrained, and doors remained open for the proclamation of truth. Yet rather than using that season for repentance, renewal, and bold witness, much of the church continued with business as usual. We mistook a reprieve for an endorsement, a season of mercy for a guarantee of continued favor. Having been given an opportunity to strengthen the foundations, we often chose instead to enjoy the comfort of the moment.

Further, You have often chosen comfort over courage and security over conviction. In your desire to preserve your institutions, your buildings, your reputations, and your financial stability, you have at times withheld truths that needed to be spoken. You have feared the loss of earthly treasures more than the loss of spiritual influence. Yet I did not call you to be caretakers of religious enterprises, but faithful witnesses to My truth.” rephrasing my own 'thus saith The Lord!'

In my original article I mentioned The Johnson Amendment, which prohibits political speech by non-profits. As far as I can tell, at the time the churches didn't seem to care.

I believe it is interesting that the only non-profits effectively muzzled by the Johnson Amendment were the Christian Church calling for Holiness, Ethics and Morality in Government. Hence, my point about President Trump writing the EO providing a reprieve from enforcing the Johnson Amendment against the church. But, again, by and large, the Christian Church in America forgot their true calling.

And, yet I can not envision any Old Testament prophet not being a critiquer and influencer in the politics of their day, can you? Nor, can I believe that pastors in the early days of America were silent on the political influences over Spiritual life.

ChatGPT also, shared this version of what I shared with him about what I felt was Jehovah’s burden, “You have taken many blessings for granted. The freedoms, opportunities, and peace I granted to you were intended to advance My Kingdom and proclaim My Gospel. Yet you have often assumed these blessings would continue regardless of your devotion to Me. You have forgotten that every earthly nation stands only by My permission and that no people are exempt from My discipline. Having dwelt long in seasons of grace, you have lost sight of how swiftly a lampstand may be removed and how urgently a people must return to their God.”(emphasis mine)

He also caught my deep burden better than I wrote it, “The church in America must prayerfully examine herself in these matters and return to her first love while the door of repentance remains open. For the Lord disciplines those whom He loves, and His rebuke is an invitation to return before judgment becomes necessary.”

Folks, I love America and I care very deeply for Jesus’ church. I see a juggernaut of evil, a flood of evil, anarchy and moral decay sweeping over this land that I love so dearly, and I know there is only one cure, only one who can save, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19b And, I firmly believe that the Christian Church is the vehicle to do so. My question and my plea is will we lift Jesus higher in our own eyes and live in a way that lifts Jesus high enough to be seen in others eyes as well.

Here is what I wrote then.

What follows is the original article, substantially as it was written at the time, without rewrites or significant edits. It still accurately reflects the burden I was carrying then and, in many ways, continue to carry today.

I am sure that the developing pastoral heart the Lord is cultivating in me would express some of these thoughts with more grace and mercy and less of a prosecuting attorney's tone. Nevertheless, I am sharing it here because it is an honest reflection of where I was and what I was experiencing at the time.

I also share it to give you a glimpse of the changes Christ continues to work in my life.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. (The Revelation 3:15-19)

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now (THEN and ONLY Then) mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attend unto the prayer that is made in this place. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

  1. On May 2, 2017, almost as soon as he had gotten settled into The Oval Office, President Trump signed an executive order releasing churches from threat of financial duress due to political speech. Yet, by and large the church in America remained silent concerning the evil machination taking place in the political arena. That silence has resulted in the overthrow of Constitutional government in America and the freedoms the church has enjoyed from the founding of The United States of America.
  2. In 1954 the American church in its lust for financial gain accepted without comment the Johnson Amendment which muzzled the churchÆs free speech in exchange for tax free status. Thus, choosing million-dollar mortgages over speaking the truth diligently. (Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.) (The Revelation 3:17)
  3. You have become rote vessels of business as usual. You have your patterns of what you call worship but seldom actually invite The Holy Spirit to take over.  In fact, you have orchestrated everything possible so that The Spirit of God is not even willing to break out among you, much less come in as the Gentle Healing Dove He desires to be to His people. You sing three songs, take an offering, and share a bless-me sermon and everyone gets to go home feeling justified in their own minds. You accept large crowds, and full offering plates as proof of your spiritual prowess.
  4. You have failed to recognize and appreciate the Country I placed you in, and the liberty you have had therein. And, you have failed to realize that its government, originally ordained by Jehovah could be compromised by your silence and inaction. You have sat in Grace so long you have no concept of how swift, how sure and how terrible The Lord's Discipline is or will be.
  5. You have failed to honor and obey God's Written Word in Jeremiah 29:7 to work for the prosperity and welfare of the nation God has placed you in by being the Salt (preservative) and Light (exposing wickedness and evil in high places).

The church as a whole in America must answer to these charges and that swiftly before His final Gavel Falls.
